Netanyahu: Now that a temporary truce is on, brief me about developments at the media front.

 

War Cabinet Member (WCM): Sir, our hit rate is 100% successful. Till 23.11.2023 we managed to kill 53 journalists and media workers (46 Palestinians, 3 Lebanese and 4 Israelis); 11 injured; 3 missing and 18 Palestinian journalists arrested by us. As a policy we are not letting journalists near the war zone. The US experience even with embedded journalists in the war against Iraq taught us not to trust even an embedded journalist. Legend has it that at the height of the Iraq war a prominent journalist embedded with the US army switched sides to join another channel (non-embedded) which offered to pay him three times the salary he was otherwise getting. As a precaution we pay ‘consideration money’ in crypto-currency apart from the usual salary they receive. We hand over press-statements to members of the corporate press covering on the spot war from the safe confines of the five-star hotel about fifty miles from the war front. Journalists insist that they be outside the range of rockets fired by Hamas. The hotel staff has assured journalists that no questions would be asked of any comfort-girl accompanying them to the hotel during daytime as also the night hours. Next morning papers in US and EU countries dutifully carry exclusive interviews with high-ups based on the same press-release. Editorials in the corporate press follow our line of projecting Hamas as a terror group though the UN has still not done it. Thorough gentlemen as they are, the American and European editors never mention about damage to IDF warfare viz tanks etc. They know it is a taboo subject. In the lavishly hosted press-conferences we encourage journalists to ask no questions about the utter failure of the Israeli government and its defence/security apparatus for the 7^th October fiasco. Cover-up of potentially damaging stories is provided by our mentors at the speed of light. For example when we bombed a hospital in Gaza killing about 600 to 700 patients the US intelligence chipped in the lie about their satellite images suggesting that a malfunctioning Hamas rocket fired from Gaza side was the culprit. The truth is – so it be told – that it was the US satellite which was malfunctioning! Major media houses worldwide directly or indirectly under control of the Jewish lobby are able to ‘manage’ any errant papers or idealist journalists.

 

N: Any obstacle?

 

WCM: Just a sec.

 

(Signals an assistant to ask the intern to bring the file codenamed CC. The intern breezes in the meeting room smiling at N and puts the hard copy on the table and walks back. WCM: The PRO department has complained that half its energies get consumed by analyzing the vitriolic pieces appearing in a web based news portal going by the name of Countercurrents.org. We would have missed it Sir, but for a tip-off provided by the Guinness Book of Record which is planning to acknowledge CC for carrying the largest number of pro-Palestine articles on its site on a daily basis – at times all articles within a 12 hour period would be on the same issue. For the record the editor of CC is one Binu Mathew.

 

N: A Christian name. A church goer?

 

WCM: Nopes. Last seen walking disinterestedly towards a non-decrepit church somewhere in Kerala, South India along with his son during the second decade of this century. No satellite images/local intelligence inputs available about any subsequent visit of his to any church. Except when his mother had died in 2023. But in all fairness he lets his son and wife fulfill their religious obligations as per dictates of their conscience.

 

N: Since most funders to NGOs etc. are western countries our allies could be signaled to get CC to feel the economic crunch.

 

WCM: No way, Sir. The journal is non-funded. What is worse, it does accept any advertisements.

 

N: Try getting the writers/authors working for this journal to agitate for better emoluments.

 

WCM: you are off the track. Everyone writes here for free and voluntarily. The core group members running the news-portal are convinced that revolution has to be non-funded. Mostly they follow the principles of journalism as enunciated by George Orwell – that journalism is writing what is not palatable to the rulers; all else is PROship. This principle is followed to the hilt.

 

N: How about trying to get CC blacklisted?

 

WCM: Was tried in December 2016. CC and others were put on the Odious list of 200 and the news was dutifully carried by a major national daily published from New York. When the Editor, CC shared this bit of what ought to have been seen as demoralizing development you know the reaction Sir, there was all around jubilation amongst the authors-forum. A cynic amongst the authors-forum even went to the ludicrous length of sending a thank you note to the then incumbent in the Oval office! That is the stuff of which these characters are made up of.

 

N: O.K. I get it, but at least we could put in a word to our ally in the US to keep their lawmakers at a safe distance from the out-pourings of this proletarian journal.

 

WCM: Your sagacious advice is a bit too late. As early as the year 2016 the US Library of Congress had decided to archive the articles appearing in CC. About a generation of US lawmakers have had their minds poisoned with pro-people, anti-establishment pieces. We are late Sir. All is lost by now.

 

N: Just an academic question. How did CC get access to the US Library of Congress?

 

WCM: The usual trick Sir. A mole – a solitary wolf if you please, waited like a sleeper cell; this mole was an offspring of an erstwhile comrade who had managed to survive the McCarthy era policy of filtering out communists from Federal service. The father had indoctrinated the son. Rest is history.

 

N: A cowardly editor, this Binu?

 

WCM: Quite the contrary. During the height of a fascist campaign in India, wherein those seen to be consuming cattle flesh were being lynched openly and in public this Editor published in CC his very own photograph along with his son’s eating flesh of an animal I dare not name it but belonged broadly to the cattle family. You know Hindu Rashtra is in the offing.

 

N: (In sheer exasperation) Perhaps we could arrange to get him an award carrying huge amounts of money?

 

WCM: Sir, Editor CC is content with bringing out the journal on a daily basis. You know in India you have ascetics detached from worldly wealth. That’s what he is. Regarding awards the CC team is content with the ‘Solidarity Media Award’ conferred by the Solidarity Youth Movement in Kerala. The award carried Rs. 10,000/- ($ 125) and a plaque.

 

N: Let’s bump him off. Mossad is anyway running a parallel intelligence network in India.

 

WCM: We will have to get clearance from the boss, Joe Biden. Right now Biden has had a case filed against the agents of the Indian government for attempting to murder an American Sikh citizen. This has come close on the heels of an earlier murder of a Canadian Sikh citizen ostensibly again by agents of the Indian government. The heat is on your friend, Modi. Let’s not burden him further. Besides, even if Mossad were to do the job all alone there would be repercussions in Israel. You have by now bombed off all hospitals in Gaza Strip, West Bank etc. Bumping of BM would lead to nationwide strikes in hospitals in Israel – you know a big chunk of staff nurses in your hospitals are Christians and hail from Kerala. God forbid Sir, if you fall ill then you won’t have anyone to care for. The worst thing to befall you would be to die uncared. Hamas, then would have the last laugh.

Is there not a single Jew left on Planet Earth who can replace this insane, Netanyahu?

It speaks volumes for the total political bankruptcy of this prosperous, enterprising, educated and powerful community spread across the globe in not being able to provide the necessary impetus for replacing this one man. This man – insanity personified – is presiding over the state of affairs supervising killings of thousands of Palestinian children; murdering women; bombing patients; pointedly assassinating journalists; eliminating medical personnel and supporting staff; blasting hospitals; demolishing schools. And now arresting doctors and the Head of Al-Shifa hospital on trumped up fictitious charges. These very doctors – who were providing medical relief and care to the needy under the most difficult conditions with risks to their own lives – deserve the highest civilian awards. The noble profession worldwide is proud of such doctors who have been true to the Hippocratic Oath.

 

I write this in distress. Till the other day the Jewish community was seen world over to have been at the receiving end of Holocaust during Nazi regime. The world had empathy for these victimised people.  Netanyahu’s brutalities and atrocities have the potential to make a significant dent in this goodwill and a shift in the perception about this persecuted community. Silence and inaction constitute the very ingredients of criminality. Members of this community would get to be seen with suspicion worldwide henceforth. Israel became a Nation-State of the Jewish people in 2018. This law was upheld by the Supreme Court in 2021. The law further downgrades the status of Israel’s Palestinian minority (21% population). Any Jew anywhere in the world automatically becomes its citizen. Why can’t prosperous Jews from all over the world descend on Tel Aviv for some time, peacefully protest and pressurize the political establishment for changing the incumbent PM? Sensitive Jews could bombard the PM with emails suggesting that he step down immediately.

 

Netanyahu – to escape enquiry and a jail sentence for the total failure on the part of the political establishment and defence and security set-up for the 7^th October fiasco – is embarking on a long-drawn one-sided war on the Palestinians. He hopes to escape incarceration by continuing with the Holocaust-II on the Palestinians.

 

I reside in New Delhi, India; am 73 of age; from Sikh faith deemed to be part of Hindus as per Indian constitution. I have seen around 50 years back Palestinian students studying in universities in our country and participating in protest marches organized by the left forces at Parliament Street. The Indian government all along has been a supporter of Palestinian people. India was one of the first countries outside the Arab world to recognize Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) and permit them to open an office in 1974-75. When Yasser Arafat visited India in 1980 he was given a warm welcome. He addressed the then Indian PM, Indira Gandhi as his sister. His Keffiyeh depicting the outlines of the territory claimed by Palestine endeared Indians to the cause of Palestinian homeland.

 

True the present Indian government has shifted its stance. But even now if a referendum were to be held, the vast majority of 1400 million Indians would be in solidarity with Palestinians. The Indian Home Ministry has not proscribed Hamas as a terror group. How can it? The politics of India’s freedom fighters against the British colonial rulers – represented by Bhagat Singh, Chandra Shekhar Azad, Udham Singh and Subhas Chandra Bose is etched in the minds of every Indian.

 

At the U.N. level too barring a handful of countries (USA, UK, France, Germany) the vast majority stand by Palestinians.

 

And finally an appeal to Noam Chomsky. We know about your health-status and advanced age, but a word from you at this point of time could act as a healing touch to the Palestinians particularly so as Netanyahu has bombed hospitals, murdered medical staff, arrested doctors and stopped medical supplies. It is inconceivable that you have not commented, but could anyone close to you provide the links.

Zionist Israel Metamorphosises the Jewish Victim Community of Nazi Holocaust to Inflict Holocaust-II on Palestinians

The ongoing humongous monstrosity inflicted by the Israeli army, Netanyahu government and its security intelligence upon the Palestinian people in Gaza Strip is mind boggling. Quantum shift of perception of events – historical and current – takes place in one’s mind. The reason – perhaps the sheer speed with which the brutality is being unleashed by the Israeli government and in full public glare; against international opinion and in violation of all laws. Even the mind fails to grasp and cope with how the Jewish victim community of holocaust is able to throw up powerful sections of its very own community in the form of Israeli government and its army to perpetrate holocaust-II on the Palestinians. The collective conscience of the Germans failed to prevent holocaust-1; even as the collective conscience of the Jewish community is seen to be unequal to the task of preventing holocaust-II.

 

In recent days when a minister in the Israeli government showed the audacity to publicly announce that Palestinians should be nuclear-bombed, this demonic entity masquerading around as a human being should have been arrested, charged and tried – with full evidence of his intent for crimes against humanity laid before the whole world. Nothing of the sort happened. So was his intent shared by his colleagues? Was the criminal idea being field tested within the Israeli government? Are plans afoot to execute the pronouncement anytime soon?

 

Humanity would be safer if Israel’s secret underground nuclear arsenal hidden somewhere in the desert is made dysfunctional through a safe method by an international agency rather than be bombed out of existence. UN inspectors should have free access to the Israeli nuclear reactor.

 

History records how Nazi Germany tried to exterminate the Jews. It was expected that this community at the receiving end of such inhumanities would – in future – be sensitive to the concerns of others; at least the thinking and ruling members of this community would not be seen as perpetrators of holocaust-II. Quite the contrary has happened, making me entertain the thought for a fleeting moment whether the holocaust really took place; I banished this thought instantaneously as blasphemous. Undoubtedly the Nazi holocaust is a historical reality; but the expected salutary effect on the victim community to sympathize, empathize and condemn crimes against Palestinians is missing.

 

The vast majority of the educated middle class citizens of Israel should perform their historical role of raising questions on the ruling establishment. Fear or favour may be driving away many from speaking up. But then they risk becoming colluders.

 

The impunity with which the Netanyahu government is continuing with its 24x7 extermination of Palestinians against the will of the International Community – as represented through U.N. – makes one conclude that the Israeli government and its army are extracting disproportionately the Shylockian pound of flesh – with blood and all – in lieu of the 1400 deaths on 7^th October 2023. Even the proverbial ‘eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth’ adage does not satisfy the lust for blood of Palestinians. The butchery by the Zionist state could have stopped at 1400; the monsters have already reached 10 times that number. The continuous aid and abetment by governments in USA, UK, France and Germany is fuelling holocaust-II unfolding before the world. The perpetrators of this crime against humanity will be brought to justice eventually though. That is the hope.

Open letter to Moshe Holtzberg, survivor of 2008 Mumbai attack, as Israeli Philosophers-Statesmen opt for Rattenlinien

 Dear Moshe,

 

You can never forget the year 2008 which witnessed multiple shootings and bombing attacks in Mumbai, India wherein a large number of people lost their lives or were injured. As a toddler of about two years age you were lucky to escape death. Your Indian nanny was clinging you in a protective embrace, the media reported. Unfortunately you lost your parents in this attack which took place at Chabad House, Mumbai.

 

In 2018 you had accompanied – as part of a delegation – your Prime Minister, Netanyahu on a visit to India and even visited the site of the 2008 crime. I guess you would be around 16-17 years of age now.

 

Developments post October 7^th 2023, would be weighing heavy on your mind. Due to understandable security concerns your whereabouts would be a secret. In any case, where-ever you are based, the on-going genocide of Palestinians in general and children in particular in Gaza Strip would be an overwhelming experience for you.

 

There are occasions in human history when people of your age have risen to the occasion and attempted to change the course of events. In present times this cycle of violence and counter-violence vis-à-vis Israel-Palestine must come to an end.

 

The need of the hour is to ensure a cease-fire; allow free and unhindered humanitarian aid to victims; and to start a dialogue to ensure the peaceful existence of Israelis and Palestinians side-by-side in their rightful territories.

 

Politicians in Israel appear to be in a vengeful frame of mind. No philosopher-statesman within or outside Israel is in sight to guide the government to a mature, long-term view of present events and a permanent solution to the vexed problem.

 

It becomes imperative for people like you to impress upon your Prime Minister to embrace peace and adopt a policy of live and let live.

 

It may yet work!

International Butchers of Palestinian Children in Gaza Strip – Prime Accused Israel, USA; Co-accused UK, France, Germany

The Zionist state of Israel; Imperialist America; erstwhile colonial rulers UK,   France; and former Nazi Germany are collectively responsible for the ongoing 24x7 slaughtering of children in Gaza Strip in full view of the public; TV channels; international aid agencies – UN, UNICEF, WHO.

 

These five heads of states have been seen near the site of the crime Gaza-Israel territories post October 7 assault and four of them have provided arms and ammunition to Israel as a part of the plan viz final solution for the Palestinians. All of these butchers are history-sheeters as their track record of the past few centuries would reveal. The sheer audacity of these butchers turning a deaf ear to the collective voice of the UN and the international community demanding a ceasefire; lifting of siege; and a permanent solution to the Palestine-Israel dispute lead to the following conclusions:

 

1.     The heads of these five butcher states masquerading around as elected representatives of western democracies – should be examined by an independent panel of medical experts including psychiatrists regarding their state of mental health and their ability to take correct, just and balanced decisions affecting humanity.

In the interest of justice & fair-play they should be offered institutional treatment. It is obvious they would not voluntarily come for examination or treatment.

 

2.     If these five heads of the states are found to be medically fit, they deserve to be facing Nuremberg-II trials now or even 100 years later. There is no limitation prescribed to try crimes of genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity in international laws.

 

True the power these butcher states enjoy presently comes to their rescue; but power equations change with time and cases could be pursued even a century later. Article 1 of the “Convention on the Non-Applicability of Statutory Limitations to War Crimes and Crimes Against Humanity” adopted by the United Nations General Assembly resolution 2391 (XXIII) of 26 November 1968 states:

 

“No statutory limitation shall apply to the following crimes, irrespective of the date of their commission:

(a) War crimes as they are defined in the Charter of the International Military Tribunal, Nürnberg, of 8 August 1945 and confirmed by resolutions 3 (I) of 13 February 1946 and 95 (I) of 11 December 1946 of the General Assembly of the United Nations, particularly the “grave breaches” enumerated in the Geneva Conventions of 12 August 1949 for the protection of war victims;

(b) Crimes against humanity whether committed in time of war or in time of peace as they are defined in the Charter of the International Military Tribunal, Nürnberg, of 8 August 1945 and confirmed by resolutions 3 (I) of 13 February 1946 and 95 (I) of 11 December 1946 of the General Assembly of the United Nations, eviction by armed attack or occupation and inhuman acts resulting from the policy of apartheid, and the crime of genocide as defined in the 1948 Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide, even if such acts do not constitute a violation of the domestic law of the country in which they were committed.”

 

The International Criminal Court (ICC) set up in this century has jurisdiction over the most serious crimes of concern to the international community as a whole, namely genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes, when committed after 1 July 2002. Article 5 of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court states:

 

“Crimes within the jurisdiction of the Court

The jurisdiction of the Court shall be limited to the most serious crimes of concern to the international community as a whole. The Court has jurisdiction in accordance with this Statute with respect to the following crimes:

(a) The crime of genocide;

(b) Crimes against humanity;

(c) War crimes;

(d) The crime of aggression.”

 

Further Article 29 of the Rome Statute states:

“Non-applicability of statute of limitations

The crimes within the jurisdiction of the Court shall not be subject to any statute of limitations.”

 

Media reports indicate that the ICC has begun investigating war crimes perpetrated in the Gaza Strip by Israel since 7 October 2023. The UK, France and Germany have ratified the Rome Statute. The ICC recognised Palestine as its member in 2015. Even though the USA and Israel are signatories to the Rome Statute they have not ratified it yet! Anyways an International Criminal Tribunal on the lines of the ‘International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda’ and the ‘International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia’ can be established.

‘Bombing Palestine to Stone-Age!!’

[All characters in this ‘theatre’ of war are real; any resemblance to fictional ones is purely imaginary!]

At an emergency war-room located in Tel Aviv within a huge bomb-proof bunker are seated Joe Biden, Netanyahu, Macron, Sunak and Olaf Scholz for a round-table meeting.

Agenda: Complete annihilation of ‘human-animals’/ ‘cockroaches’ – expletives derogatorily used for Palestinians by the Israeli government. Putting up grim faces, the utterances of these five men are business-like.

Joe Biden: Quick Netanyahu, spell out your plans.

Netanyahu: We continue to air-bomb the civilians; have moved in our tanks for a ground offensive in the Gaza Strip. We understand it would take a long time to finish them off.

Joe Biden: It’s a slow process but in a long drawn-out war public opinion will turn against us.

Olaf Scholz: With due apologies to Netanyahu and without touching raw nerves, may I remind you that when Hitler faced a similar problem – about exterminating a community he opted for the Jews to be sent to gas-chambers – saves the bother of long-term killing on a daily basis. The Holocaust has taught us that this option should not be explored as a final solution for the Palestinians.

Sunak:       I am a Person of Indian Origin. I remember my grand-father telling me in childhood about the Jallianwala Bagh massacre at Amritsar, India executed by the then British (India) rulers on 13 April 1919. As a matter of fact, the topography of the Gaza Strip suits Israel fine. The area is enclosed from all sides with one exit point at the Egyptian border which could be bombed to ensure no Palestinian escapes from there.  May I remind this August gathering that Jallianwala Bagh had a similar topography with all gates sealed and no escape routes for the thousands upon thousands of pilgrims (Sikhs & Hindus) who had gathered there on the festive day of Baisakhi. There were also people protesting against the Rowlatt Act. So Brigadier General Dyer ordered his army to do a clean and fast job, which they did through machine-guns. Of course martial law was in force in Punjab. The objective was achieved. True the number of people who had gathered and got killed/injured was in thousands only. That Israel is modifying this template to ensure 2-3 million Palestinians get eliminated!

Joe Biden: One hears about bombing Palestinians to stone-age. I recall the phrase ‘bombing Pakistan to stone-age’ used by our Assistant Secretary of State in a telephonic conversation with the Pakistani leaders after 9/11 when the latter were not taking a clear stance – whether they were with us Americans or not.

Netanyahu: I’m against bombing Palestine to stone-age. I’d rather eliminate all the Palestinians but leave the land at Gaza Strip, West Bank reusable by us after the mission is accomplished so that we could re-settle our own people there. Bombing Palestine to stone-age – even if it eliminates all Palestinians – would leave the barren stone-aged land of no use to us. So, what’s the big deal?

Macron:   (addressing Joe Biden) The American government has the experience of dropping atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945. I am against a similar exercise undertaken at Gaza Strip though some would argue that it would be a quick, clean and smart job eliminating all the – as the Israelis term – ‘human-animals’ and ‘cockroaches’ in one go.

Sunak:       I have it on authority of nuclear scientists and evolutionary biologists that not even a nuclear bomb can eliminate cockroaches – which have an inherent survival instinct against nuclear radiation.

[Netanyahu does a quick Google search on his smart phone using words – Cockroaches, Survive, Nuclear Radiation.]

Netanyahu: (interrupting others) Sunak is right on the dot!

Joe Biden: If that be so, whose brilliant idea was it to dub the Palestinians as ‘cockroaches’ and the like? If what Sunak says is true, Israelis better stop using expletives like cockroaches for Palestinians. That way we’ll come out of this messy war with our heads held high and with a measure of dignity.

 

[All others nod their heads in agreement.]

 

Macron:    That still leaves a minor irritant. What if we face a Nuremberg type of trial after the Palestinians are eliminated by the Israeli army? Let me remind you that all of us are going to face elections in our respective states within a year. God forbid if our parties lose the elections. Don’t forget that people are supreme. The opposition parties would get to our jugulars.

Olaf Scholz: Not to bother much. Post Nuremberg even the top most leaders were given a jail term of a couple of years; and that, too, was shortened subsequently at the behest of the Allies themselves who needed the services of these very Nazi-criminals to keep the restless masses – reeling under inflation after WWII – subdued in their own countries. So don’t fear any Nuremberg type of trials or their consequences. What is more, in post-Nazi Germany itself very many of those involved were allowed to escape to other countries. Recently, the Canadian government under Trudeau was actually honoring an Ex-Nazi right in the holy precincts of their Parliament! Don’t get me wrong; better not to kill all of Hamas leaders. Each one of us may actually need their services to stay in power in our own countries. That’s realpolitik, howsoever disgusting it sounds.

Joe Biden:  (irritatingly) By the way, Sunak could you at least ensure that your BBC fellows stop calling Hamas as fighters and use the designated term ‘terrorists’. BBC has become a pain in the a_ _e for me.

Sunak:       Trust me I have already put in a word, discreetly though, but it does not work.

Joe Biden:  Why don’t you cut off the BBC’s funds; impose a sort of economic sanction or freeze their bank accounts.

Sunak:       That would actually mean no news emanates from the U.K. – which is worse than having to hear reference to Hamas – the fighters 24x7. At least we are better off than the Russian government-controlled media which refers to Hamas as the liberation force. Hamas in Arabic actually means ‘zeal’. Hamas is also an Arabic acronym for “Harakat al-Muqawamah al-Islamiyya,” which means “The Islamic Resistance Movement.”

                  While we are at it, may I just remind you that while British official records till date refer to Bhagat Singh as a “terrorist”, the people of India and its government calls him a patriot, martyr, revolutionary and freedom fighter. All of us here could take a cue from history – unless we decide to rewrite world history as George Orwell had prophesied it to eventually happen.

Joe Biden:  Netanyahu, do keep in mind as you strategise your moves – that the USA has imposed war in about dozen and a half countries since WWII and every time I confess our army had to finally retreat back to the barracks with punches all over our faces. The short statured Vietnamese, would throw boulders from tree-tops above on American soldiers stationed on the ground below and kill them.

                   We were lucky there was no internet in the 1960s so we could hide the atrocities committed by us on the civilians from the rest of the world for a long time. But, now any Palestinian – I mean Hamas – could click a picture with his/her smart phone in Gaza Strip, get it viral and the whole world knows about it. You are plain unlucky to be waging a war in the internet-era.

                 Of course we had our problems way back in the sixties with lone-wolf journalists – I mean those with social conscience; it is thus that the ‘My Lai’ massacre, Napalm bombing, ‘Agent Orange’ resorted to by us got public. We became wiser in later years though and started the concept of ‘embedded journalists.’ But even that’s not fool-proof.

Macron:    Brother Netanyahu please bear with me; your Cabinet colleagues calling Palestinians as ‘human-animals’ – betray their utter stupidity. All human beings are animals, if you will social animals; so use of expletive ‘human-animals’ in relation to Palestinians bounces back on you and all of us present here, nay the whole humanity. Please listen to Joe Biden’s sagacious advice – don’t react in anger! Remember if you spit at the sun, the spit falls back on you.

 

At that very moment there was what sounded to be a shrill and long air-raid siren getting repeated again and again. Joe Biden was the first to duck under the table for cover – rather quick for his age – followed by the other four. Years of regular drills and exposure to SOPs instilled in the Heads of States had got their reflexes to be in perfect survival mode. A couple of  minutes later an anxious Israeli security official rushed into the bunker as he could not see the images of these leaders on the CCTV screen in the adjoining part of  the bunker.

Joe Biden:  Is the raid over?

 

Sheepishly the security official bent down, cleared his throat and whispered into Netanyahu’s ear that the sound was actually the long drawn out cry of a Palestinian child who had been grievously injured in an Israeli bomb strike.  Al Jazeera was airing the clip capturing the child’s cry repeatedly through its Arabic news service – which the Israeli intelligence officials sitting in the chamber adjoining the war room were tracking minute-to-minute as part of routine exercise to gaze into the mind of the Arab world.

 

The leaders stood up with a sigh of relief and Joe Biden announced the meeting to be over. All synchronously saluted each other with a ‘V’ sign, though one of them had faltered and even embraced a Nazi style salute – and worse shouted HAIL HITLER before rectifying the mistake.
